Frequently asked questions
How do I block apps during a focus session?
Open Settings → Blocked Apps & Websites and tap Choose apps & categories. This opens Apple's system picker, where you select the apps and categories you want shielded. Your selection is used automatically the next time you start a focus session.
Founder Focus needs Screen Time access to do this. If you skipped that during onboarding, you can grant it anytime from Settings → Permissions.
How do I block a website?
Apple's app picker can only add apps and categories — not websites. To block a site, open Settings → Blocked Apps & Websites → Add a website, then type the domain (for example x.com) and tap Add.
Blocked sites are restricted in Safari and other browsers while a focus session is running.
What are the three enforcement levels?
Friction — a short delay before you can override and unblock. Commitment — a longer, escalating delay each time you try to override. Locked In — the strictest mode, enforced at the OS level so it holds even if you force-quit the app.
I'm in a Locked In session and need out. How?
Locked In has no normal override, but there's always an escape valve. Use the Emergency access button in the session controls, or the medical / Face ID override. Either one ends the session and immediately unblocks your apps and websites.
A website I added still isn't blocking.
Make sure (1) you're in an active focus session — blocking only applies during a session, (2) Screen Time access is granted in Settings → Permissions, and (3) you entered just the domain (e.g. x.com), not a full URL. If it still doesn't block, email us with the site and your iOS version.
Do I need an account? Is my data collected?
No account is required — sign-in is optional. Founder Focus collects no data. There's no server, no analytics, and no tracking; everything stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete all my data?
Open Settings → Delete Account in the app to erase everything stored locally — priorities, sessions, scores, journal entries, and your blocking selections. Deleting the app from your device also removes its data.
Is Founder Focus free?
Yes. Founder Focus is free, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
